<p> Module 4: Vote</p><p>Passport to Democracy Election </p><p>If your teacher has ordered the Passport to Democracy suitcase, in it you will find a voting booth, a ballot box, i-vote badges (these you can provide to the voters once their name has been marked off the roll) and two election official badges. </p><p>10 Steps to the Election</p><p>1. ANNOUNCE the date and time for the election.</p><p>2. SOURCE the following resource for the running of an election:  a voting booth</p><p> a ballot box</p><p> pencils</p><p> the electoral roll (i.e. your classroom roll).</p><p>3. DISTRIBUTE the party registration forms. Parties will now need some time to create their campaign materials and to get ready for the election. </p><p>4. CREATE the ballot paper using the template. 5. INFORM the parties of the order on the ballot paper. 6. ALLOW time for the parties to create their how-to-vote cards. The parties will need to copy the order of the ballot paper on their how-to-vote cards. </p><p>7. ALLOCTE voting centre jobs. You will need:  two election officials to mark the roll</p><p> ballot box guard</p><p> queue controller. </p><p>8. PRESENT the campaign speeches. During this time party members can distribute how-to-vote cards. </p><p>9. HOLD the election. Each student should receive a ballot paper, marking it in secret. </p><p>10. COUNT the votes of the election using the preferential voting count method and announce the winner.
