The event, held at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, had well over 100 attendees from both the companies and the community. The event allowed the corporate partners to compete against one another to kick off our 2011-2012 Campaign. </p><p>Several events were open to both the corporate partners as well as the public, such as the 5k fun run/walk, basketball shoot-out, corn hole throw, golf chipping contest, tennis, and free bingo with food certificate prizes. Children were also allowed to enjoy in the fun, with exciting activities such as a bouncy house, face painting and RC car exhibition. </p><p>The Augusta Health 5k Fun Run/Walk started the day off for events, with Sue Krzaster with Augusta Health and Jimmy Atkins Jr. with Hershey tying for first place. Followed by the Waynesboro Y Basketball, McKee foods employee Kevin Hall took first place. Vector Industries placed first in the Target Corn Hole represented by David Tanner, McKee Foods Golf and Staunton Y Tennis both represented by Steve Gayheart. Best Buy took first in the Water Balloon Toss and nTelos placed first in both the McKee Food Slogan Trivia as well as the nTelos Tug of War. The first overall LIVE UNITED Corporate Cup winner went to Best Buy from achieving the most points in all of the events together, followed by Vector Industries in second place, and nTelos in third. </p><p>As well as the award’s ceremony and campaign kick-off, the day ended with a flag folding ceremony, honoring the 9/11 Ten year Anniversary, presented by the Stonewall Jackson Council Boy Scouts. </p><p>For more information regarding the LIVE UNITED Corporate Cup 2012 to be held September 9th, 2012 or the United Way of Greater Augusta, please contact Cynthia Pritchard at [email protected] or by calling (540) 885 – 1229.
