The province previously committed $2.1 million towards this project in 2009.</p><p> Sturgeon Road Bridge – Provincial share: $6.5 million (total cost $13 million) Construction of a new bridge over Sturgeon Creek north of Portage Avenue. The new structure will eliminate truck weight restrictions and allow for a pedestrian pathway along Sturgeon Creek underneath the bridge. </p><p> Pembina Highway Underpass – Provincial share: $7 million (total cost $14.3 million) Reconstruction of the Pembina Highway underpass at Jubilee Avenue. Reconstruction will allow for pedestrian/active transportation access through the CN Rail embankment, improve land drainage and widen the northbound section to three lanes. </p><p> Bike Paths – Provincial share: $500,000 (total cost $1.4 million) Construction of new bike paths along Pembina Highway (northbound and southbound) from Bishop Grandin Boulevard to Chevrier Boulevard, enhancing safety and security for local cyclists.
