<p> Sample Social Media Policy #1</p><p>This social media policy was submitted by a Twin Cities nonprofit that uses a combination of social media platforms as a part of their communications and marketing plan. The policy specifically addresses the personal use of social media by staff members.</p><p>Personal websites and web logs – [NONPROFIT ABC] respects the right of employees to use these mediums during their personal time. If an employee identifies him or herself as an organization name employee they must adhere to the following guidelines:  Make clear that the views expressed are the employee's alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of [NONPROFIT ABC]. Use a disclaimer such as: "The postings on this site are my own and don't represent organization name's positions, strategies or opinions." </p><p> Do not disclose confidential or proprietary information about the company or others. </p><p> Speak respectfully about [NONPROFIT ABC], other employees, partners, clients or others contacted in the course of your job. </p><p> Don't cite or reference clients, partners or suppliers without their approval. When you do make a reference, when possible, link back to the source. </p><p> Add value. Share your expertise of [NONPROFIT ABC]’s mission and encourage support of [NONPROFIT ABC]'s services and programs.</p>
