Nicholas J. Bergan Cell 561-603-5511 CURRICULUM VITAE 10305 Osprey Trace, West Palm Beach, FL 33412 [email protected]

Statement of Teaching Philosophy

My experience in teaching a variety of classes, from fully online, hybrid, and on-campus, is that I have an appreciation of education that gives students a competitive edge in the business today by applying their experiences and real life situations to course concepts. I value the interactive and responsive instructor. In my experience both in academia and in business, students or clients learn through different methods but have the greatest learning experience when involved in collaborative activities. That is why I provide feedback within eight hours of any student communication, which includes email, discussion board posting, or assessments, as student really appreciate feedback and acknowledgement of a responsive instructor in the online learning environment. As such, it is my privilege to work with learners in an online academic environment that may not otherwise have an opportunity to work towards earning an advanced degree.

Education

Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL August 2004 Master of Science Degree: Economics Thesis: “Load vs. No-Load Mutual Funds: A Comparative Study, 1995-2004”

St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO June 2002 Bachelor of Arts: Economics Cumulative GPA: 3.6/4.0, Economics GPA: 3.75/4.0, Dean’s List 5 Consecutive Semesters

Teaching Experience (Online, Hybrid, and On-Campus)

Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA – Online, Blackboard 8.0 January 2016 to present Adjunct Online Faculty o ECO2015 – Principles of Macroeconomics o ECO2016 – Principles of Microeconomics

Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL – Online, Blackboard 8.0 January 2012 to present Adjunct Online Faculty o ECO2013 – Principles of Macroeconomics o ECO2023 – Principles of Microeconomics o Awarded “Excellence in Online Course Design” out of more than 200 online courses. o Quality Matters Approved

Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR – Online, Blackboard 9.1 April 2012 to present Adjunct Online Faculty o ECON 201 – Introduction to Microeconomics o ECON 202 – Introduction to Macroeconomics o ECON 311 – Intermediate Microeconomics Theory o ECON 315 – Intermediate Macroeconomics Theory o ECON 340 – International Economics o ECON 423 – Introduction to Econometrics o Quality Matters Approved Nicholas J.
