Teams Begin 12:00 Individual events begin</p><p>7:45-8 a.m. Registration 8-8:15 a.m. Stretch 8:15-8:45, Class #1 – Spectacular Tricks, Spins, Catches, Releases, Contact Material 8:45-9:15, Class #2 – 2-baton, 3-baton, PFP, Strutting material 9:15-9:45, Class #3 – Solo Section Drills (for new students learn your first solo!), Modeling/Best App. 9:45-10:15, Class #4 – Rolls / PFP current roll section 10:15-10:30, Solo Twirl-Offs for prizes (Sp Beg; Novice; Beg; Int; Advance) * parent classes to be held during clinic.</p><p>Raffles to be announced throughout the day at the contest Lori Potter Memorial Award to be announced after solos is completed at the contest.</p><p>In June of 2001, the Saline Twirlettes lost their long-time director, Lori Potter, unexpectedly and prematurely. Lori had been instrumental in the teams’ success and devoted endless hours to the promotion of baton twirling. She was Director of the Michigan Miss Majorette competition from 2000 to 2001, as well as the AAU Junior Olympics qualifiers for the Michigan area. Lori leaves behind two daughters, Jessica, 20, who is a college student and Conner, 15, who continues her twirling career.</p><p>In memory of Lori, the Saline Twirlettes has decided to hold a Memorial event every year in her name. In 2003-07 we held instructional clinics and this year continue the clinic to bring twirlers together to improve their skills Also in 2003 we started the Lori Potter Memorial Travelling Award to be awarded to an exceptional twirler who shows dedication and commitment. We were pleased to award Stacy Leatherberry (2003), Liesl Green (2004), Lauren St. John (2005), Bethany Lawson (2006), and Brittany Brown (2007). Past award winners along with the Potter family, will present the 2008 award. The Twirlettes will again use proceeds from this event, for, the TWIRLETTES scholarship, and a donation in memory of Lori Potter to a charitable cause. (2003 Saline Hospital, 2004 Saline Schools, 2005 Adults/children for Independent Living, 2006-7 Saline Marching Band)</p><p>Our goal is to make this a special event for twirlers to work with exceptional instructors that will inspire, encourage and promote our twirlers to a higher level of competition.</p><p>Come twirl, learn, practice and get tips for the competition day. You can sign up for the whole clinic, or if in team competition, take 2 classes when convenient with your schedule. Our goal is to educate young ladies that heart disease is the #1 cause of death among women today. We want to educate our twirlers of the importance of having a healthy heart and taking care of ourselves everyday!! We will be passing out literature and promoting the GO RED FOR WOMEN CAMPAIGN!
