Collegiate 4-H Meeting November 8, 2007 7:00, Lilly 3-118

Rita Boeglin called the meeting to order. The American Pledge was led by Dougie Schnur and the 4-H pledge by Logan Springstun. The minutes from the last meeting were approved, seeing no corrections. Keith Carrell announced the club has a total of $8,188.49. There were 31 members present. Old Business Megan Kron talked about the Reverse Trick-or-Treating. It seems that things got confused and George Manor didn’t need our help, so it was a quick trip. We are planning a social for the night of November 15th. It will be in the Recreation Lounge of Hillenbrand Hall at 7:00 P.M. We will also have root beer floats. So bring your air hockey, billiards, and ping pong skills – we may have just a few games going on! There were 4 members who were helping at the Lake County officer training. More of these officer trainings will be held in starting in January – so don’t worry about missing it; you’ll have plenty of chances! Rita narrated a PowerPoint presentation of our Regional Conference that Kala Hash and Kala Nicholson put together. It looked like fun galore was had. The PowerPoint will be available on the club’s website in a couple of weeks. Our 4-H polos are in. If you ordered one, you can pick them up from Keith Carrell. New Business The Boiler Volunteer Network is sponsoring the “Season of Sharing Christmas Shopping”. Our club will be collecting money at the next social and our Christmas party meeting. Then some members will go out shopping for the family we will be sponsoring. Dustin Potts discussed the National Collegiate 4-H Conference that will be held in Denver, Colorado from February 21st-24th. Some members are going on Feb. 20th for the skiing option. Members are responsible for transportation and registration costs (registration is $225 for early registration – by January 7th). See Keith for travel information if you are interested. The meeting was adjourned by Dougie with a second from Ginna Rybolt. Next meeting will be Thursday, December 6th at 6:00 P.M. This will be our BIG Christmas Party. Sarah Wickert will be providing a ham. We ask Freshmen to bring drinks, Sophomores to bring chips, and Juniors to bring desserts. The location is to be announced.
