Included in the overnight trip are lab tours, discussions with researchers about current projects, and an off- shore marine sample collection voyage for genetic analysis using the FISH (Fluorescent in situ hybridization) technique. Also tour the dock area where deep-sea research vehicles are constructed and tested, and hear from leading scientists studying coral reefs as indicators of global warming. Also trek the Great Sippewisset Salt Marsh with an expert in microbial life that thrives there.</p>
