
<p> Book Talks</p><p>You are to keep track with the chart below to remind yourself of book talk dates, chosen book, and chosen project. </p><p>Book Talk Date Chosen Book Chosen Project Grade 1:</p><p>2:</p><p>3:</p><p>4:</p><p>5:</p><p>6:</p><p>7:</p><p>8:</p><p>9: Book Talk Projects</p><p>Choose one of the following projects for each book talk. You may use projects 2-9 only once. You may use project 1 twice. </p><p>1. Create a bookmark with the following items: Front: Illustration that reflects your book Title of Book Author of Book Back: Quick summary of book Your rating (1-5 stars)</p><p>2. Soundtrack: Make a soundtrack for your book by choosing eight songs. You may use excerpts. For each song, explain in at least two sentences why you chose the song and how it relates to the events or characters in the book.</p><p>3. Movie poster: Imagine your book is being turned into a movie and illustrate a movie poster. Who would play each character? Name at least eight characters and who would play them. Explain why. </p><p>4. Collage: Make a collage of a major theme from your book. Use clippings from magazines, newspapers, etc. On the back of the collage, explain what theme you are representing and what it has to do with your novel. </p><p>5. Children’s Book: Write and illustrate (you can use cut-outs) a full children’s book telling the story of your book- with a cover. </p><p>6. Mobile: Create a mobile that includes eight objects that represent your book. You must also include a description of the significance of your object. </p><p>7. Bedroom: Create a bedroom for your main character. You must have a bed, a closet with types of clothes, four other objects on the wall, and an additional five objects. You must explain all of these objects on the back of your project. </p><p>8. Rewrite: Rewrite a section of the book from a different character’s point of view than is in the original book. This should be at least two pages. </p>
