<p> Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) The SHARP Project in Primary Care</p><p>A website providing self-help resources and training</p><p>What is SHARP?</p><p>Self-Help Access in Routine Primary care (SHARP) is designed to enable primary care practitioners to support patients with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression to access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based self-help information.</p><p>It’s content is NICE approved and includes the following:</p><p>Access to brief self-help resources for you to help your patients to understand and manage their problems more effectively in your consultations</p><p>Links to other self-help resources</p><p> A training course for practitioners with the following outcomes o To understand the 5 areas Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model and how it is used in the self-help leaflets o To identify patients who are suitable for guided self-help o To engage patients in the guided self-help approach o To identify appropriate self-help materials for the patients' identified problems and goals o To support patients in their use of self-help materials WANT TO KNOW MORE??</p><p>Your IAPT worker will be only too pleased to talk to you and arrange a training session for your practice. It’s a good opportunity for your CPD. The session can be as little as 30 to 45 minutes in length if time is a pressure but can be tailored to suit your practice.</p>
