<p> List of NCRA Credentials </p><p>RPR Registered Professional Reporter (Designed for the court reporter in a legal setting) Written Knowledge Test plus three skills tests from 180 wpm to 225 wpm @ 96% accuracy. </p><p>CRR Certified Realtime Reporter (Designed for the realtime reporter in legal settings) Must have RPR pre-requisite. Written Knowledge Test plus one unedited skills test @ variable speeds 180 – 200 wpm @ 96% accuracy.</p><p>CRC Certified Realtime Captioner (New certification combining the former CCP (Certified CART Provider) and the CBC (Certified Broadcast Captioner) Must attend a CRC workshop, write a skills test of literary material @ 180 wpm, take a written knowledge test.</p><p>RMR Registered Merit Reporter. (Must have RPR as prerequisite and minimum 5 years’ experience) Advanced written knowledge test plus three skills tests from 220 wpm to 260 wpm @ 96% accuracy.</p><p>RDR Registered Diplomat Reporter. (NCRA’s highest and most distinguished certification). Must have RMR, university degree and/or three other NCRA designations, plus minimum 10 years’ experience. Very advanced written knowledge test.</p><p>CRI Certified Reporting Instructor (Designed for court reporting teachers) Successful completion of CRI course, all assignments, and exams.</p><p>CPE Certified Program Evaluator. A CPE is an individual trained to evaluate and certify undergraduate court reporting programs. The CPE assists the school through the rigorous certification process and performs the official evaluation. Successful completion of two-step seminars, assignments, and exams.</p><p>CLVS Certified Legal Video Specialist (Designed for video operators in the legal environment) Successful completion of seminars, written knowledge test, and production test.</p><p>CMRS Certified Manager of Reporting Services (Designed for managers of court reporting firms. This certification program has been discontinued)</p><p>New Technology-based NCRA Certificates – Debuted in 2009. These are certificate programs only and attainment of one of these certificates does not come with an acronym.</p><p>Realtime Systems Administrator Program - This certificate program will provide you with the technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills you need to become the key player in providing realtime to your clients. </p><p>Trial Presentation Professional Program - More and more lawyers and other legal professionals are using electronic trial presentation software to present evidence in court. If done well, electronic documents can improve efficiency and effectiveness of a case. As courtrooms adopt new technologies, IT professionals, courtroom personnel, and trial presenters can find a wide range of equipment available in each new situation</p><p>FAPR Fellow of the Academy of Professional Reporters is a professional distinction conferred upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in the field of shorthand reporting. Candidates for Fellowship are required to have been in the active practice of reporting for at least 10 years and to have attained distinction as measured by performance (which includes publication of important papers, creative contributions, service on committees or boards, teaching, etc.). </p><p>Updated September 2016</p>
