<p>Building Confidence through Assertiveness</p><p>Goal: To facilitate the development of increased self-expression and assertive behavior in the workplace, that is expressing your point of view in a way that is clear and direct, while still respecting others. </p><p>Training Objectives:</p><p> o Help participants acquire the skills basic to effective and responsible assertion</p><p> o Participants gain insight on the emphasis on providing a safe, comfortable, </p><p> sharing environment where they can learn and incorporate new </p><p> skills that allow them to respond to others with more confidence. </p><p> o Provide a positive group atmosphere in which participants will feel relatively comfortable in trying out new behaviors.</p><p> o With basic assertive skills as a foundation, this workshop allows participants to set individualized goals and through interactive exercises, practice new behaviors, while providing and receiving feedback.</p><p>Course Content: o This active, highly interactive program which addresses the following through structured exercises, group discussion and positive feedback.</p><p> Differentiation between passive, aggressive, assertive communication  Enhance emotional intelligence and social intelligence  Self esteem as it relates to communication  Verbal and Non-verbal communication  Personal boundaries and knowing when to speak up  Conversation skills and finding one’s voice</p><p>BEVA GLOBAL MANAGEMENT INC. www.bevaglobal.com 1  Active listening  Open vs closed questions  When to self-disclose  Initiating, ending and joining in  Giving and Receiving Feedback - Dos and Don’ts  Assuming responsibility for one’s experience  Responding to requests, setting limits, when to say no  Communication technique : the D.E.S.C script  Setting effective goals using S.M.A.R.T.</p><p>Note: The course outline may be subject to change.</p><p>BEVA GLOBAL MANAGEMENT INC. www.bevaglobal.com 2</p>
