Click Text Complexity Course</p><p>Support 1: Log in to the Text Complexity Module and access Step Three: How to find the readability of a text. Approximate completion time: 15 minutes</p><p>Continue your knowledge building with analyzing text for complexity by collaborating with the Media Specialist in mastering the skill of analyzing text for complexity. Approximate completion time: Varied</p><p>Elluminate Session will provide time for collaboration, clarifying the process, and having common understandings on the analysis process for text complexity and pairing text. We will also build in opportunities to collaborate on Action Plan ideas and models being planned at schools. Approximate completion time: 30-45 minutes *Elluminate directions for access will be emailed in an appointment. </p><p>Create an Action Plan for training teachers on pairing text to increase the amount of varied informational text students read throughout the day with classroom implementation by February 2013. Bring the completed Action Plan to the November Cohort. Approximate completion time: Varied</p><p>Create an example lesson pairing informational text to include; Lexile measure, and questions related to an upcoming benchmark utilizing the Reading Task Card. This lesson can be used to model in a classroom and shared with teachers as a part of your upcoming trainings. Bring the completed Lesson Plan to the November Cohort. Approximate completion time: Varied</p><p>Continue working with teachers at your school during PLC’s to analyze the complexity level of text teachers are using for instruction. Using the three step process outlined in the Common Core and practiced in the Moodle Module and Elluminate Sessions. Keeping in mind the “right text” expectations presented in the Cohort session, continue to evaluate where on the Common Core Implementation Scale your school falls with the goal of being Culturally Embedded.
