The metal piercings can cause e serious burns if left in place during surgery. Plastic fillers are okay. If r</p><p>P we find piercings, we must remove them. We cannot place fillers in the piercing holes. </p><p>Cleaning your skin before surgery gets rid of germs on your skin that can cause an infection.</p><p>1. Do not shave your body below the neck for 3 days before surgery. </p><p>2. The night before your surgery, take a shower and wash your hair using normal or antibacterial soap. Use normal shampoo. Conditioner is okay.</p><p> If you are unable to take a shower, a tub bath is okay, but a shower is the best choice. If you sit at the sink, this is okay. </p><p> After you have bathed with regular soap, please use the foil pack soap. It is a special soap that kills bacteria & other germs. </p><p> Do NOT use this soap on your head or face. Do NOT use on female body parts such as the labia or vaginal opening. If you have anything protruding from the rectum, do not use the special soap on the protruding skin. Use the special soap around these areas, not on these areas. ONLY use regular soap on these areas. </p><p> Wash your body from the neck down using this special soap. You need to be sure you wash your back. Do rinse the soap off. Do not scrub too hard with the sponge. The side with the bristles is for your finger nails. </p><p> Spend extra time cleaning areas where you will have your surgery. </p><p>3. The morning of your surgery – repeat the shower or bath as above. </p><p>4. DO NOT use anything else on your skin such as lotion, creams, or make-up.
