<p> Flattening Milk Jug in Metal Bender </p><p>Purpose: This experiment was done to see how easy or hard it was to flatten a milk jug. This information will help the team understand more about flattening a milk jug when it comes to preprocessing and shredding of the milk jugs.</p><p>Preparation: Shoes and weight, Metal bender and a milk jug,</p><p>Goal: To decrease the volume of a milk jug by making it as flat as possible.</p><p>Step 1. Step on milk jug to flatten it to fit inside bender</p><p>Step 2. Insert half way flattened milk jug into bender and start cranking. Step 3. The milk jug seemed to get stuck and couldn’t make it all the way through so I helped it out a bit.</p><p>Step 5. Show the result, it didn’t seem to flatten it much more than stepping on it. The parts you could see the difference was the lid part.</p><p>Conclusion: This seemed to work well but had a hard time getting the milk jug to go through the rollers. This also looks like a lot of plastic for something to cut through.</p>
