Remove stock fender mounts and stock steel fender braces. Also if you are already using our Notorious Nerf Bars, you will need to remove nuts and washers that mount the nerfs bars to the peg. You will still be using these bolts if you intent to use both nerf and heel guard.

2. Now assemble both heel guard halves. Each side is labeled left (L) and right (R) match them up accordingly. Start by inserting red plug (M) into open holes in the tubing at the flex joint. This is to prevent mud and debris from getting into your heel guards. 3. Next insert steel sleeve (K) into red damper (L) with the steel sleeve sticking out of the tapered side of the damper. Then insert steel sleeve (K) and damper (L) combo with the tapered side into the cone shaped portion of the flex joint. Now join the two halves together with bolt (B) then add washer (G) and nut (H) to the backside then tighten. You will want to tighten nut till it passes the nyloc portion of the nut and about 2 to 3 threads are showing.

4. Start installing new heel guard by inserting bolt supplied bolt (A) through your Notorious Pegs and then though the heel guard then add washer (G) and then nut (H). Leave bolts loose to insure a better fit.

5. Now where your stock heel guards/fender mounts bolted to the chassis, insert supplied bolts (D) and single bolt (C) should be used on the rear brake master cylinder mount to the sub frame mount. Thread in to sub frame mounts and a drop of Loctite is recommended on the end of bolts (C) and (D) then tightened.

6. Next re-mount fenders using supplied bolt (E), washer (I), and nut (J) then tighten.

7. Lace webbing through heel plate and bolt straps to heel plate with supplied bolt (F) then add washer (I) and tighten nut (J). Then lace heel plate assembly into heel guards, see diagram below for help.

8. Now go back to check and tighten all bolts, including heel guard flex joint.

9. You’re done!!!

*If you have any questions on your purchase or any of our other items, please feel free to contact us at: (951)279-3861 or email us at [email protected]
