
<p> JOB PROFILE</p><p>JOB TITLE: Relief Bank Worker </p><p>JOB PURPOSE: To provide support for services users in various projects. Relief work is suitable for people looking for flexible work as it offers the opportunity to work in a variety of settings as and when cover is required. Relief workers are free to accept or decline work. </p><p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>General To participate directly in all aspects of the day-to-day work of the project to which you are assigned, including teaching the skills required in the project.</p><p>To implement the Camden Society’s Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities and all other policies in all areas of your work.</p><p>To be directly responsible for ensuring that individual client files, handover books, accident and incident forms, drugs administration records, individual service plan/training plan records and financial procedures are accurately maintained in a responsible and professional manner.</p><p>To manage your own workload ensuring that you do not work more than 48 hours per week</p><p>Training and Employment Service Projects</p><p>To help teach new skills in a vocational training setting, such as a cafe, gardening centre or mailing project.</p><p>To give the trainees the support they will need throughout their training and to ensure that each trainee has maximum opportunities for participating in the project’s day-to-day operations.</p><p>To encourage good working standards, particularly in the areas of hygiene, time keeping, work and personal interaction.</p><p>Community and Outreach Services</p><p>JP – Human Resources Volunteer To assist people to access community facilities by, for example, accompanying people to college classes, leisure pursuits and using public transport.</p><p>To prepare for, attending and participating in regular team Meetings, when required.</p><p>To work in social clubs, holiday schemes, assisting in the running of social and leisure activities.</p><p>You may be called on, at short notice, to provide relief support work. You will be responsible for updating The Camden Society of your availability for work. </p><p>SKILLS AND COMPETENCES:</p><p>At least six months’ experience of working with people with learning disabilities or other vulnerable people in a community setting (paid or voluntary).</p><p>Be able to identify what support a service user needs and to be able to follow information given in a service user’s person centred plan.</p><p>Be able to support service users with all aspects of their personal care.</p><p>Be able to support service users who communicate with no or limited speech.</p><p>Be able to work as a member of a team</p><p>Be able at times to work alone without the direct supervision of a manager.</p><p>Be able to keep records, to write letters and short reports.</p><p>Be able to perform basic numerical tasks.</p><p>Able to support service users with mobility problems in a safe and person centred way.</p><p>An understanding of the support needs of people who challenge services.</p><p>Knowledge of the Society’s values and a willingness to reflect these in practice.</p><p>An understanding of and a willingness to work within a culture of equalities and diversity.</p><p>JP – Human Resources Volunteer</p>
