<p>Sports Council for Wales administered grants:</p><p>The following provide information on grants available through the Sports Council for Wales. Applications for these grants can be made any time of the year as the decision panels meet usually 4 times a year. It is worth getting applications in early in the financial year as once they have allocated all their monies there is no more until the next financial year.</p><p>Community Chest</p><p>This is a National Lottery funded grant aid scheme. It is designed to encourage more people to become more physically active more often. The maximum grant is £1,000 in any 12 month period.</p><p>Purpose of the Scheme:</p><p>The main purpose of the scheme is to support good projects which will create new or improved sport and physical activity opportunities. The scheme is intended to support activities which:</p><p> encourage more people to become more physically active more often;  encourage volunteers and community champions by developing new sport and physical activity leaders, sports coaches and officials.</p><p>Who is Eligible ? - Organisations can apply, provided they have a bank or building society account in the name of the organisation. Primary schools can benefit from Dragon Sport if they choose, so they are not eligible to receive funding through Community Chest. </p><p> How do I apply ? – Contact your local authority Sports Development Office.</p><p>Alternatively, you may download the application forms and further information from www.sports-council-wales.org.uk/grants- funding/downloads </p><p>Minor Grants</p><p>Minor grants provide funding for projects that create new, additional or improved opportunities to play sport.</p><p>The scheme is used widely by the Council to encourage individuals, families and communities to become more active. Grants from £750 - £10,000 can be awarded. The total project cost cannot exceed £12,500.</p><p>How to apply - Contact your nearest Sports Council for Wales regional office, who will provide you with further information.</p><p>Sportsmatch Cymru</p><p>The Business Sponsorship Initiative Scheme for Sport</p><p>The scheme provides a vital link between the commercial sector and the development of grass- roots sport. </p><p>Awards range from a minimum of £300 (up to three sponsors can make up this amount - normally £100 per sponsor) and to a maximum of £50,000 for all applicants. Should your application be successful, we will match your sponsorship £ for £.</p><p>What is eligible?</p><p>Sponsorship agreements that either involve new or additional business investment.</p><p>Who is eligible?</p><p>Any properly constituted sports club/association or local authority, which is being sponsored by a commercial organisation.</p><p>How to apply - Contact your nearest Sports Council for Wales regional office.</p>
