<p>ITG Journal Special Supplement: review of Frank Campos on "The Art of the Single Line"</p><p>International Trumpet Guild Conference, Columbus, Georgia, May 2012 by John Cord</p><p>In what was this reviewer's favorite event of the conference thus far, Frank Campos reminded all of us why we love the trumpet, and more importantly, music. Campos found a way to capture and deliver the effect of an entire big band, orchestra, or jazz combo while being unaccompanied and without a single sheet of music. More than that, Campos represented what it means to be a showman, in the best possible way. Music that was performed ranged from Leonard Bernstein to Chick Corea, Flight of he Bumblebee to Cherokee, and even an original based on Tarzan. Whether through his delightful stage presence or his incredible virtuosity, Frank Campos provided an experience that those in attendance will not soon forget.</p>
