<p> Anne Wormald Level 2 TAGteach Journal</p><p>This journal provides some examples of the type of entries we would like to see for your level 2 journals. Your journal should include 10 entries.</p><p>June 2, 2017</p><p>I recently completed the TAGteach level 2 certification course and feel much more confident in my TAGteach skills! I had several AHA moments during the level 2 course, including that you do not always have to stick exactly to the script. It will be very helpful for me to modify the script to suit my learners because they are all so different, and many struggle with verbal language.</p><p>Today I started to use the tagger with one of my clients. We are working on increasing his attention to others including responding to his name, giving eye contact, or initiating play with others. To introduce him to the tagger I began by presenting simple demands that I knew he could already do (clap hands, touch nose, etc) and then tagging and reinforcing those skills. This went really well so I tried some more complex skills such as “put away cup.” He picked up very quickly that tag meant a treat was coming! We will definitely keep working on this </p><p>June 10, 2017</p><p>I decided to try some tag with another client today. This client is working on play skills outside on the play ground. There are a few phases of the program; in the first phase she just has to interact with playground toys in any way (ex. Touch the slide, look at the swings). Next she will be reinforced for doing something new with a playground toy (ex. Pick up a ball, climb the steps). Finally she will be reinforced for imitating certain activities done by the therapist – these activities will increase in complexity as the client progresses. We began this session by pairing the tag with reinforcement. We will continue next session.</p><p>June 11, 2017</p><p>Today I worked on a tag program that has already been started with a friend. The target skill is putting the dishes away. We broke the skill down into a number of steps: 1. open dish washer, 2. pull out rack, 3. pick up dish, 4. open cupboard, 5. put dish in cupboard. First the learner tagged me for putting the dish in the cupboard, then he had a turn while I was the tagger. Since we are backchaining this skill, I completed steps 1-4 and then he completed and was tagged for step 5. Once he was able to do step 5 independently 5 times, We moved to step 4. So I completed steps 1-3 and then he completed 4 and 5 and was tagged for number 4. He earned a star sticker for each tag and after 20 tags he got to go and play.</p>
