<p> College of Science LSAMP Undergraduate Research Travel Award</p><p>The College of Science will provide reimbursement up to $500 in eligible conference travel expenses for LSAMP students traveling to conferences to present their undergraduate research results. </p><p>Eligibility Requirements:  Support is available only for students who are the presenting and first author of a poster or oral presentation.  Students must be College of Science majors who are enrolled at Texas A&M at the time of travel and working with a Texas A&M faculty member on an undergraduate research project during the travel semester.  Funding is limited to a maximum of $500 per student to defray allowable travel expenses (meeting registration, air transportation, mileage, and meeting accommodations). Meals and incidentals are not eligible for reimbursement.  Receipts and confirmation of a student's presentation at the conference will be required for reimbursement. Receipts must be submitted within 5 days of the end of the conference.  Only one award will be made for each presentation.  Students who previously received any Undergraduate Research Travel Award from the College of Science are not eligible.  Award recipients are expected to acknowledge the College of Science and the TAMUS LSAMP Program (NSF HRD-1304975) in their presentation.  Prior to reimbursement, award recipients must submit a PDF file of their poster or oral presentation to [email protected]</p><p>Applications will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the year.</p><p>Application materials: 1. Cover page with (a) student name and contact information, (b) presentation title, (c) meeting name, location and dates, (d) requested budget with detailed expected expenditures. 2. Brief abstract of the presentation which includes the following elements as appropriate:  A sentence that clearly states the study OBJECTIVE/HYPOTHESIS  A brief statement of METHODS  A summary of the RESULTS  A statement of CONCLUSIONS  A statement of SIGNIFICANCE </p><p>3. A recommendation letter from the faculty research mentor. The letter should also verify that the student is currently working on a research project with the faculty member and that the student is the presenting/first author of the work.</p><p>All application materials and receipts should be submitted to Sara Thigpin [email protected] 514 Blocker. </p>
