<p>C & V HWBB Meeting 24.11.15 Status Report: Physical Activity </p><p>HEALTH AND WELLBEING BOARD STATUS REPORT</p><p>Delivery Programme: Physical Activity (Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan)</p><p>SRO: Programme Status Dashboard: Susan Toner Previous CURRENT Future □ Red □ Red □ Red Reporting Period: 1 July – 30 September 2014 x□ Red/Amber x□ Red/Amber □ Red/Amber</p><p>□ Amber/Green □ Amber/green x□ Amber/green</p><p>□ Green □ Green □ Green</p><p>Overall Outcomes from Results Based Accountability Analysis Physical activity rates as reported via Welsh Health Survey 2013+14.</p><p>Criteria: % adults reporting being physically active on 5 or more days in the previous week - Welsh Average: 29% - Cardiff and Vale-wide: 27% - Cardiff locality: 26%; - Vale of Glamorgan locality: 30%</p><p>Criteria: % of adults reported being physically active on no days in the previous week - Welsh Average: 34% - Cardiff and Vale-wide: 35% - Cardiff Locality: 36% - Vale of Glamorgan Locality: 34%.</p><p>From the Sport Wales Survey 2014 Criteria: % of adults ‘hooked on sport’ (participating in 3 or more activities per week) - Welsh Average: 38.77% - Cardiff and Vale-wide: 44.4% - Cardiff Locality: 42.9% - Vale of Glamorgan Locality: 48.6%</p><p>Susan Toner 1 C & V HWBB Meeting 24.11.15 Status Report: Physical Activity </p><p>From the Sport Wales School Sport Survey 2015 (responses from 116,000 children across Wales) Criteria: % of children years 3-11 'hooked on sport' (participating in 3 or more activities per week) - Welsh Average: 48% (2013 figures – 40%) - Cardiff and Vale-wide: 48% 2013 figures – 41%) - Cardiff Locality: 47% (2013 figures – 38%) - Vale of Glamorgan Locality: 52% (2013 figures – 44%)</p><p>Recent Highlights / Achievements Cardiff & Vale On 30 September, a workshop was held with partners to discuss the food and physical activity draft plans. Further amendments have been made to the plans prior to circulation to partners for further comments. It is anticipated that the plan will be finalised by early January 2016.</p><p>Cardiff: Children and Young People Celebration event of the Active Travel School initiative held in October 2015 http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/how-legacy-sergeant-louise-lucas-10259396 Partnership working with the school, police and Sustrans continues. Adults - Pilot project implemented and being monitored with primary care teams in South West Cluster. - Physical activity actions included within primary care cluster plans. Neighbourhood Partnership Areas Physical activity actions included in all plans, driven through Communities First. </p><p>Vale of Glamorgan: Children and Young People Multiagency school active travel group, with support from Cabinet leads, agreed actions to drive forward active travel initiatives with 5 Vale schools; Adults  Increase in numbers attending Foodwise for Life following referral of clients from National Exercise Referral Programme;  Barry Communities First Cluster Bike Club is looking for a new larger outdoor venue due to increasing numbers of participants (currently, 30);</p><p>Cardiff and Vale / Environment:  Actions from audit of compliance against NICE PH8 Guidance (Physical Activity and the Environment) included in physical activity plan  Funding obtained for outdoor gym equipment at University Hospital Llandough and University Hospital of Wales for use by staff, visitors and patients.</p><p>Key Concerns / Red Flags Support to schools to - Implement school travel plans - Deliver 120 mins of quality PE per week - Optimise duration and time of school lunch break</p><p>Susan Toner 2 C & V HWBB Meeting 24.11.15 Status Report: Physical Activity </p><p>Proposed Critical Tasks for next 3 months: No. Task Lead Due Date Status 1.
