<p> BY JESICCA BETROS AND JANA MUNCLINGER</p><p>On Friday the 11 March Jessica Betros, Jana Munclinger, Drew Wilson and Laura Ware represented Monaro High School as Junior Food & Condiments stewards at the Cooma show. The day began at 9am for us with the head stewards explaining the role of the junior steward and the days routine. We assisted in setting up the food entries in the Pavilion, organising them in sections, classes and categories, ready for the judges. Three food judges arrived at 10.30am to begin the task of determining the winners of each class.</p><p>During the judging we presented the products to the judges by categories. The judges then determined first, second and third, highly commended and encouragement awards. It was interesting to hear their comments about the products and the reasons why they did and did not give products their awards. Once the judging was completed the items were placed back into the display cabinets for the public viewing.</p><p>We would like to thank Leanne & Danielle Mackay (food stewards), Kaye Anderson & Margaret Barron (condiments stewards) for a great day and our food tech teachers (Ms Jones and Mrs Morris) for encouraging us to enter.
