Assistant General Secretary: Captain SL Ellis Q.V.R.M.</p><p>80/21</p><p>30 March 2016</p><p>See Distribution</p><p>NATIONAL CADET CLAY TARGET SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016 INTRODUCTION 1. The tenth National Cadet Clay Target Shooting Championships, a competition for units of the Combined Cadet Forces, the Sea Cadet Corps, the Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps will take place at the Cambridge Gun Club’s Shooting Ground, Cottenham, Cambridge CB24 8AH on 18th – 19th June 2016. Teams will be accommodated in Wretham Camp, Thetford.</p><p>THE COMPETITION 2. The Championships for teams of four cadets will consist of: a. 50 Bird Sporting shoot in which every team member will receive 50 targets;</p><p> b. 25 Bird Down the Line (DTL);</p><p> c. Flush in which each team will have a flush of clay targets presented to them;</p><p> d. The leading individual from the aggregate of the Sporting and DTL matches will receive the High Gun trophy;</p><p> e. The Sporting, DTL and Flush will be scored 1 point per hit. The scores in the three competitions will be aggregated. The team with the highest total score will be awarded the Overall Champion trophy.</p><p>3. There will be a Sporting and DTL shoot competition open to one Adult per team.</p><p>4. There will be an Inter-Services Team Flush match and an Inter-Services Team Skeet Match.</p><p>5. There is likely to be a VIP Flush shoot.</p><p>6. All competitions will be fired in accordance with the rules of the CPSA.</p><p>7. There will be NO practice stand.</p><p>ENTRY 8. Units wishing to enter a team / teams for the Championships are to submit their entry on the form at Annex A, by 25th April 2016 accompanied by a cheque for the appropriate entry fees, details shown on the entry form, payable to CCRS. Late entries are unlikely to be accepted.</p><p>9. A refund will be made to any team that can not be accepted but refunds will not be made to teams that withdraw unless they can be replaced by another team.</p><p>10. In early May, the teams, whose entries have been accepted, will be notified and will be sent detailed instructions that will require the immediate submission of the accommodation and messing return and other details. All Teams will be required to arrive at Wretham by 1930 on Friday 17th June. 11. In the event of bids exceeding the number of teams that can be accommodated, the Committee will allocate places, and a Reserves List will be created.</p><p>12. Each team is to consist of 4 firers, all of whom must be enrolled and serving cadets. Teams may be mixed male/female. All firers must prove that they have passed the Shotgun Safety Handling Test before firing. One adult per team may also shoot in the Adult Competition firing last within their team’s slot in the Sporting Competition. If there is the opportunity to run an extra competition, additional adults may shoot it provided there are sufficient admin/safety staff and there is space and time within the squadding. Details will be confirmed in the letter allocating team places. All extra shoots will have to be paid for direct to the club running them on the day.</p><p>STAFFING 13. Help with the administration of the event is vital. Details of the assistance needed are at Annex B. Please complete and return this Annex with your entry form whether you have suitable candidates for any of the rolls or not.</p><p>GENERAL 14. It is imperative that returns are submitted on time and that suitable committed volunteers come forward to provide the admin and range support, without them the Championships will not take place so please put forward the names of volunteers early. Regrettably VA costs have to remain with units as CCRS is not funded with them for this event.</p><p>15. The Championships will be on Westminster and once your team has been allocated a place you must ensure that all participants are posted on Westminster / Bader to ensure that they are recognised as taking part in the cadet activity.
