<p> APPLICATIONS ENGINEER Cleveland, OH JOB DESCRIPTION:</p><p>Manage customer projects to design high quality sealing solutions using computer aided design software and measuring tools. Act as a knowledge resource to the sales team, in-house production, and R&D. Provide customer service, including customer visits as needed for troubleshooting, sales support, and projects. Reports to Applications Engineering Manager.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:  Indirectly sell products by problem solving which requires technical sealing expertise specific to the application, including factors such as speed, temperature, application, media, and pressure.  Confer with customers and other engineers to assess needs and to determine sealing solutions. Customer base will be both: MRO & OEM  Create engineering proposal drawings via AutoCAD, recommending improved seal designs and/or materials for the application.  Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.  Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the design and materials of sealing solutions.  Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.  Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.  Based on customer request, conduct a seal failure analysis & write a report determining root cause and recommendation to correct the problem.  Develop, present, and respond to proposals for specific customer requirements.</p><p>Job Category Percentages: Work Center Dispatch-Seal Design-Drafting 60% Customer Projects 20% Customer Service 10% Internal Knowledge Resource 10%</p><p>REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering  Excellent presentation and customer relationship skills  Expert in AutoCAD  Strong strategic planning and project management abilities  Excellent Computer skills including, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook  Knowledge of seals and sealing solutions preferred  Travel: 20% - 40%; ability to drive, a must</p><p>PHYSIC AL REQUIREMENTS: Sit [75%], Stand [25%], Lift [up to 25lbs], Walk, Bend, Stoop, Reach, Push, & Pull, as well as Finger/Hand dexterity. </p><p>Qualified candidates, please forward your resume to [email protected] SSI is an EOE and offers a drug-free work environment</p>
