Innovation and Wealth Creation Accelerator Fund 2013/14

Innovation and Wealth Creation Accelerator Fund 2013/14

INNOVATION AND WEALTH CREATION ACCELERATOR FUND 2013/14

The Wessex AHSN is keen to make an impact on health and wealth in this financial year and has been rapidly putting into place our programmes. However, because we do not yet have the full team in place Delivery Board has taken the opportunity to establish an Innovation and Wealth Creation Accelerator fund for 2013/14 amounting to circa £300,000 in the first instance.

Bids to access this fund should be made on the attached Summary Business Case Proposal form. In order to be successful the WAHSN expect the bid to align to AHSN priorities and objectives and make substantial progress by the 31 March 2014 through delivering health and wealth gains and/or demonstrating significant platform building for future gains. Projects already underway can be included where it can be shown that additional funds could deliver rapid additional gains.

There are a number of criteria set out on the proposal form which the bids will be assessed against but clearly not all criteria are expected to be achieved for each submission. Proposals backed by more than one organisation will be favoured – particularly collaboration across providers and commissioners.

Individual schemes can be awarded up to £100,000 but we expect the majority to be awarded up to £30,000.

Deadline for submission: 16th December 2013

Funding awarded: 20th December 2013

Scheme start date: 4th January 2014

We recognise the deadline for submissions is relatively short but wish to maximise the timescale for achievement in the remainder of 2013/14.

Lead organisation Chief Officer/Chief Executive/Head of Faculty support should be obtained – and indicated by electronic signature of accompanying email.

For guidance on our objectives and vision Wessex AHSN Business Plan can be found at: https://wessexhiecpartnership.org.uk/ahsn/files/2013/10/Enclosure-F-130823-Wessex-AHSN- Business-Plan-version-5-7-NHS-E-Submission-PDF.pdf Innovation and Wealth Creation Accelerator Fund

Proposal Form- Summary Business Case

Project / Proposal Name

Lead Organisation and contact details Partners

Description of proposal (A more detailed business case can be attached if necessary)

Benefits: Health Gains (including milestones and measures of success and progress)

Benefits: Wealth Creation (including milestones and measures of success and progress)

Finance: Total cost 2013/14

Financial or In-Kind cost/value

Funding required from WAHSN

Stakeholders affected?
