<p> Ministry Bio Josh and Jamie Bell Campus Missionaries to Rice University Josh and Jamie met at Sam Houston State University through their involvement with Chi Alpha. During their time in college they experienced first hand how God is transforming lives on secular college campuses. They are determined to see the transformation continue in the lives of students at Rice University.</p><p>Full Name: Joshua Parker Bell Born: December 4, 1976 Really Began to Follow Jesus: On a retreat during my sophomore year in high school. Baptized in the Holy Spirit: On a mission trip to Mexico City in March 1998. Called to Ministry: During my first year out of college I lost interest in my chosen career. I then became consumed with seeing college students reached with the Gospel. Ministry Experience: Three years as a student leader in college. Three years as a Missionary Aide—2 at Sam Houston State Chi Alpha and 1 at the Chi Alpha National Office in Missouri. One year as an intern at Sam Houston State Chi Alpha. Currently Chi Alpha Campus Pastor at Rice University (4yrs and counting…) Education: Bachelor of Arts in Photography (Sam Houston State University, 2000). Strengths: Relates well to students that study too much… committed to answering tough questions. Hobbies: Reading old books, disc golf, cycling, and anything else to do with sports. Deeply Influenced By: Life Together, True Spirituality, Spiritual Authority, and Mere Christianity. Vision for Rice University: Establish a community of Spirit-filled believers that proclaim the gospel through the way they love each other.</p><p>Full Name: Jamie Rene Bell Born: July 18, 1980 Really Began to Follow Jesus: During my sophomore year in college. Baptized in the Holy Spirit: At a Breakaway retreat in Louisiana in the fall of 2000. Ministry Experience: Two years as a student leader, three years helping to train student leaders, and currently directing women’s small groups for Chi Alpha at Rice University. Education: Bachelor of Arts in Spanish (Sam Houston State University, 2002). Strengths: Practical, efficient, good at getting things done. Hobbies: Reading, crafts (card making, scrap booking, embroidery), hiking, and most of all being a mom to our two little boys! (Maclaren – 4, and Schaeffer – 2) Deeply Influenced By: The Holiness of God, Knowing God, Humility and anything by Edith Schaeffer. Vision for Rice University: Establish a community of Spirit-filled believers that proclaim the gospel through the way they love each other.</p>
