<p> MLA Format</p><p>1. Margins are set at 1” on all sides</p><p> a. Go to the Page Layout tab and click the margins button</p><p>2. Font is set to Times New Roman or Calibri, 12 pt.</p><p>3. Double spaced throughout</p><p> a. Go to paragraph and set the line spacing to double</p><p> b. Set the “after” field to 0 pt. </p><p>4. A page number containing your last name and the page number is at the top right of each page</p><p> a. Go to the Insert tab</p><p> b. Choose page number from the header and footer section</p><p> c. Choose top of the page, plain number three</p><p> d. Include your last name and one space before the page number</p><p>5. For the header, include your name, the teacher’s name, the class name, and the date</p><p> a. Date should be written out thus: 16 October 2013 (day month year with no comma)</p><p>6. In the line below your header, center your title</p><p>If all of this is done correctly, the top of your page should look like this:</p><p>Last name 1 Your name</p><p>Teacher’s name</p><p>English</p><p>Date month year</p><p>Title</p><p>If Your Printer is a Brat or Your Computer Breaks…</p><p>I do not take kindly to the “my printer is broken” excuse. If your printer or computer really does break, I expect you to be proactive about that situation and try to fix the problem BEFORE you set foot in my class. </p><p>You have several options: 1. Print it before school in my room or at another school computer. Do not try to print it during my class, though. Come before school with enough time that you will be able to complete the labeling and not be late to your first period class (I would allot thirty minutes at least). 2. E-mail it to me as a Word attachment at [email protected]. Come before school to pick it up. 3. Write it in your best handwriting in blue or black ink. 4. Print it at a friend’s house. </p><p>**IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU PICK UP THE PAPER BEFORE SCHOOL BECAUSE YOU NEED TIME TO PROOFREAD THE PAPER, LABEL, AND CHECK THE RUBRIC REQUIREMENTS.</p>
