<p> Heritage Open Day Sunday 13th September 10.30am – 4.00pm (last entry 3.30pm)</p><p>Explore Backstage Step through the pass door and explore backstage at Leeds Grand Theatre, including stage, scenery bridge and fly floor. Learn how the magic happens! Due to the popularity of the day, visitors are asked to follow a one-way system to explore the backstage areas. </p><p>Family Fun Craft Activities and Victorian Dressing Up Learning Suite and Grand Studio, Backstage Level -1 Drop in to find out more about the Grand’s Victorian heritage. Create your own Victorian paper dolls, take part in dressing up or enter our colouring competitions for a chance to win fantastic prizes! </p><p>Archives Display Yorkshire Post Bar, Stalls Explore the Grand’s story through photographs, pictures and programmes. Find out more about the work of our archive volunteers and our collection. Face Painting Grand Studio, Backstage, Level -1 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.00pm-3.00pm</p><p>Refreshments Emerald Grand Hall Take the weight off your feet and soak up the atmosphere in the Emerald Grand Hall. Open throughout the day, serving hot and cold drinks, snacksand delicious cakes. Highlights</p><p>Follow Spot Box Auditorium, Upper Balcony Open between 11am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm Meet our technicians and learn how lighting is controlled during a performance.</p><p>Hickory Dickory Dock Learning Suite, Backstage, Level -1 11.00am 30mins Come along to play, sing, create and discover in a taster session of our regular under 5s group. Suitable for under 5s and their families.</p><p>Opera North Singing Workshop Howard Assembly Room 11.15am 45mins Sing songs, have fun and get creative as you explore the magic of music- making with Opera North! Open to all ages, no previous experience necessary.</p><p>Heritage Talk Auditorium, Stalls 11.30am and 1.30pm 15mins Find out what it would have been like to visit the Grand in 1878 and learn about the changes made during the restoration project.</p><p>Northern Ballet Workshop Howard Assembly Room 12.30pm and 1.45pm 45mins Join us for a fun workshop that will get you leaping and twirling like the professionals! Learn some basic ballet steps and create your own marvellous movements as you get a taste of dance with Northern Ballet. Open to all ages, no previous experience necessary.</p><p>Opera North Performance Emerald Grand Hall 2.30pm 20mins Join us for a unique pop-up opera performance featuring Opera North’s very own diva, Daisy Brown singing songs from the stage.</p>
