<p> CLUB MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES Rotary Club of Sydney Cove (From 2006/07 Onwards)</p><p>1. Active Members</p><p>All elected members other than Honorary Members or Friends of Sydney Cove.  Eligibility, Rights and Privileges unchanged from current situation.  Elected by the Board after considering the recommendation of the Membership Committee.  Provided with their original Dinner Badges but have to replace or change them at their own expense.  Remain Members until they resign, cease paying fees or are asked to leave by the Board.  Covered by Rotary insurance when participating in Club and Rotary- sponsored events and activities.</p><p>2. Honorary Members</p><p>Persons who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furtherance of Rotary ideals and/or who significantly enhance the reputation of the Club and Rotary by their association with it.  Elected by the Board at its sole discretion for one year only, with renewal to be reconfirmed each Rotary year.  Rights and Privileges as per the new Club Constitution: o Entitled to attend all meetings and enjoy all the other privileges of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove o Exempt from the payment of admission fees and dues o Have no rights and privileges in any other club, except for the right to visit other clubs without being the guest of a Rotarian o Have no vote and are ineligible to hold Club office o May hold Honorary Membership in more than one Club o Hold no Classification other than Honorary Member. o Not covered by Rotary insurance, except when participating in Rotary sponsored events and activities as for any other volunteer.  Are guests of the Club at all Club functions.</p><p>1 3. Friends of Sydney Cove</p><p>Persons interested in supplementing and advancing the ideals of Rotary in general and of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove in particular and retiring or past members who wish a continued participation in Club activities.  Elected by the Board on the recommendation of the Membership Committee.  Pay an annual subscription to the Club - set for the time being at $100 plus GST.  Pay for all Club functions.  Entitled to bring their own guests to Club meetings and Functions.  Provided with their original Dinner Badges but have to replace them at their own expense.  Have no official standing within the Rotary International movement, in particular: o Have no vote and are ineligible to hold Club office o Do not receive Down Under and other Rotary materials o Not covered by Rotary insurance, except when participating in Rotary sponsored events and activities as for any other volunteer o Have no right to visit other Clubs without being the guest of a Rotarian unless they are a Member or Friend of that Club as well.  Remain Friends until they resign, cease paying fees or are asked to leave by the Board.</p><p>Board of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove September 2006</p><p>2</p>
