<p> Jesus & Film --- 2nd Quarter, 1st Assignment – Fall, 2017</p><p>Due Date: Thursday, 11/16/17 by 2:45 p.m.</p><p>Instructions: Please select only one of the following choices; follow instructions and submit your assignment via Google Classroom or as discussed and on time. Choice 1: The Essay: </p><p>Imagine that you are a film critic for a major online blog. Create a typed critique of any film which won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Indicate why you think that the award for Best Picture was or was not warranted. Your critique must highlight two (2) specific film techniques and how they were effectively or poorly used to enhance the story or detract from it. The better critique essay will include properly footnoted researched information to support your claim while, at the same time, avoid plagiarism. Please note: do not use “Wiki” websites. The essay must be a between a one and one (1) and a half (1 ½) pages, double-spaced, using standard margins and have at least three standard, indented paragraphs with 12 point Times New Roman or Calibri font. When submitting you work, be sure to avoid sending your document such that I am unable to correct or provide comments directly on the document.</p><p>Choice 2: The Trailer</p><p>Create a short video as a trailer of a full-length feature film of issues of interest to teens. The trailer has coming attractions that will entice viewers to see your film when it is released. Place the video on a flash drive which can be played on the computer in W216; the flash drive will be returned to you. Please speak with me about other potential methods for submission. Your trailer should be in good taste so that any teacher, parent, or administrator may view it. The trailer should be between two (2) and four (4) minutes in length. </p><p>A high quality production will enable the individual(s) involved to be exempt from the second assignment in the second quarter. A different due date may be requested but you must ask by Monday, 11/13/14. </p><p>Group format is available for this choice only. The same grade is given to all students. Extra credit is available for this choice only and the amount of extra credit will depend on the quality of the result. </p>
