Nmira 2014 State Conference

NMIRA 2014 STATE CONFERENCE

Thank you to all of the 120+ participants in the 2014 NMIRA State Conference! Our State conference was held at the Marriot Albuquerque Pyramid North on January 31 and February 1, 2014. Our theme was “Stories Carry Us Forward”. We hope you all had a blast, got to network with teachers and vendors, and were able to take some of the knowledge learned to your classroom. We received a lot of positive feedback on the Keynote speaker, Dr. Janet Allen and many said they would implement her strategies in the classroom. We were also incredibly pleased with speakers, Pat Mora and Carolyn Meyer. All of the speakers reminded me why I am an educator. We hope you had a chance to see all the great presentations on Saturday. There were a variety of presentations available to meet the needs of every educator in attendance. I was lucky enough to see Alyssa Agranat’s presentation on enacting dramatic scripts and Ulrike Kerstges’ presentation on movement and the brain. Both presentations touched on different teaching modalities and strategies to meet the needs of a diverse population. We want to thank everyone who helped make this year’s state conference a success and we hope to see you next year!
