Nowadays we have a new awareness of the potential that can be expressed in each age of human life. The moment has come to turn this new knowledge into a new portrait of human existence by presenting it alongside the intuitions of artists who have seen the same changes, though by different means. In the exhibition, visitors will recognize these changes and discoveries. They will become more and more conscious of the potential of each age of human life. They will recognize science and technology as a more important means of emancipation and they will remember this message thanks to the strong emotional impact of the works of art. The exhibition follows a person’s life from life in the womb to the one-hundred years goal through six areas, one for each age. Each area contains one to three works of art together with exhibits (videos, infographics, real objects, images of people from the past and simple but meaningful personal tests) that show and explain the changes occurred in that age and the main discoveries about it, and remind the visitor of life conditions in the past. A selection of great quotations will associate the new knowledge to the deepest intuitions of human wisdom throughout history. The visitor will be able to experience an extraordinary “short circuit” between the emotions aroused by the artists’ works, the intellectual stimulations of the exhibits and of course their own autobiographical experiences. In this way art and science – two different but complementary ways to explore and understand our world – become the same thing right where they both start: our own mind.

Press Office Delos +39.02.8052151 [email protected]; [email protected]

1
