Emergency Preparedness Plan

Delaney Campus

Fire Event In the event that a fire should occur on campus each group will depart from their location in the same way as shown on the evacuation map and practiced during fire drills. The Site Director or Staff in charge at that moment will call 911 to report the situation, but only after they have evacuated the students they are responsible for if they are assigned a group. The staff member in charge of each group will count students as they are exiting the building and again immediately upon reaching the designated safe area to ensure all students have exited safely. At this point the Site Director will confirm all students are accounted for. In the event Izone must relocate to a sheltered area we will meet at the Kennedale Fire Department. We will first meet on the football field located behind the Delaney campus, and then upon direction from Site Director or Staff in charge begin heading toward the fire department located at 100 Clover Lane when deemed safe. Izone will then meet at the designated sheltered safe area and follow the same procedures. The designated non-sheltered safe area will be the football field directly behind the campus on top of the hill, and the designated sheltered safe area will be the Kennedale Fire Department located at 100 Clover Lane, Kennedale, TX 76060.

Inclement Weather Event In the event inclement weather should occur while Izone is in session we will meet in designated interior rooms in the same manner that we have practiced during our drills. The Site Director or Staff in charge at that moment will call 911 to report the situation, but only after they have evacuated the students they are responsible for if they are assigned a group. The staff member in charge of each group will count each child upon leaving the current space heading toward the designated room and again upon entering the room to ensure safe arrival of all children. At this point the Site Director will confirm all students are accounted for. Should Izone have to evacuate the building we will follow the same procedures listed for the Fire Event.

Health Event If it comes to Izone’s attention that a contagious health issue has occurred either during the school day or during Izone operational hours we will post concerns and/or procedures on our bulletin board located in the cafeteria. Izone will also send an informational letter home so that parents are informed of the situation, and can make a conscious decision of what steps to take with their child. If this occurrence should happen during Izone hours we will separate the ill child from the group and follow our illness procedures located in the parent handbook. Should Izone have to evacuate the building we will follow the same procedures listed for the Fire Event.

Intruder Event In the event that someone should enter or attempt to enter the facility during Izone hours we will use the following procedures. The Site Director or Staff member in charge will be responsible for notifying each group of the situation at hand. Staff will then follow the same procedures as stated in the Inclement Weather Event plan, with the addition of: after counting students they will block the doors by whatever means available to prevent intrusion into the classroom. The Site Director or Staff member in charge will need to stay in contact with 911/Police to keeping them apprised of the situation. Should Izone have to evacuate the building we will follow the same procedures listed for the Fire Event.
