This is necessary to ensure that the TutorPro client file CAB files and sundry other system files are in place on the server. The TutorLibrary AICC Content setup installs the following files on your system:  The Skills and Exercises supplied by the install  The graphical layout of the TutorPro Instruction Box and Pointers  A cabinet (‘cab’) file for distributing the TutorPro ActiveX components to the client workstations  The main TutorLibrary content target web page – ‘tutorpro.htm’  A Java Class that handles the AICC callback information  AICC-compliant course descriptor files Unless you require access to the content supplied by the install via your LMS, you do not need to import the installed content after the setup is complete. As mentioned above, the point of running the setup is simply to ensure that the necessary run-time files are installed and accessible from your LMS. For more information on installing and importing TutorLibrary content via AICC structure files, please see the ‘TutorLibrary AICC Content Installation Guide’. - 4 - TutorPro – Publishing Skills in Learning Management Systems

Publication of skills that you have authored When publishing Skills or Exercises, follow the procedure below: Step Action 1 Compile the Skill in TutorAuthor. 2 Copy the contents of the Skills ‘Save’ sub-folder into a new and unique folder that has an HTTP address accessible from your LMS server. 3 Create a URL-link to the learning object in the LMS. The URL link should have the following format: http://servername/tutorproAICC/TutorPro.htm?RP=http:// servername/tutorproAICC/skills/&HP=http://servername/tutorproAICC/skills/couTpro/ howTpro/getTpro/outlook1/&LF=lesson.tpl where  http://servername/tutorproAICC/TutorPro.htm is the http url to the ‘tutorpro.htm’ file which starts each Skill. This file will have been installed by the standard TutorLibrary AICC Content setup and can be found in the folder specified by you during this install  RP=http:// servername/tutorproAICC/skills/ is an http url to a folder that contains the TutorPro ‘custpntr’ and ‘themes’ folders. By default, this will be the ‘Skills’ folder located in the folder specified during the TutorLibrary AICC Content setup  HP=http://servername/tutorproAICC/skills/couTpro/howTpro/getTpro/outlook1/ is the http url for the newly created skill folder as discussed in point 2 above  LF=lesson.tpl is the name of the Skill lesson file. Skill lesson files always have a ‘.tpl’ extension. The author will have specified the name of this file. 4 For example, let’s assume you specified ‘c:\inetpub\wwwroot\TutorPro’ as the destination folder for the TutorLibrary AICC Content Setup and the HTTP address to this folder was ‘http://myserver/tutorpro’. If you were then to copy a compiled TutorPro skill, whose lesson folder was ‘skill1.tpl’, to a folder called ‘c:\training\content\MyFirstSkill’ and the HTTP path to this folder was ‘http://myserver/content/myfirstskill’, you would need to use the following URL in your LMS to launch the skill:

http://myserver/tutorpro/tutorpro.htm?RP=http://myserver/tutorpro/skills/&HP=http:// myserver/content/myfirstskill&LF=skill1.tpl TutorPro – Publishing Skills in Learning Management Systems - 5 -

Contacting TutorPro technical support

Pre-requisites Before contacting TutorPro technical support, please ensure that the following information is available:  The product Serial Number, which can be found on the label and case insert of the installation CD.  The version of the product that is being used, usually displayed on the product splash screen.  The operating system on which the product is running, including the version and Service Pack number (if applicable).  A description of the operation being performed when the issue occurred.  The exact wording of any error message that appeared on the screen.

World-wide web The answers to many Frequently Asked Questions may be found on the TutorPro web site: http://www.tutorpro.com/support/default.asp?faq In addition, software updates are available to download from the site, and evaluation copies of other TutorPro products may be requested.

E-mail If the solution to an issue cannot be found on the web site, then e-mail details of the issue to: [email protected] If possible, please attach any information relevant to the issue, including screen shots.

Telephone The TutorPro technical support department is open on all normal UK working days, and the business hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm GMT.
