<p> DVRHS All Sports Booster Club Minutes January 13, 2014</p><p>2013-2014 Officers: Janet Comerford – President Michele Baran – Vice President Lisa Amabile – Treasurer Peggy Mikulicz – Recording Secretary Cathy Ferraro – Corresponding Secretary Chairpersons: Janet Comerford – Spirit Items</p><p>Call to Order – Janet Comerford called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm and initiated the Flag Salute.</p><p>Secretary’s Report – Peggy Mikulicz presented the December Secretary’s report. Linda Romaine moved to approve the December report and it was seconded by Michele Baran.</p><p>Treasurer’s Report – December report presented. Peggy Mikulicz moved to approve the December Treasurer’s Report and it was seconded by Linda Romaine.</p><p>Athletic Director Update – Bill Deniz New team recognition banners have been ordered for The Hutch and will be displayed soon. Painting of The Hutch is under consideration. Terrier 250 – a fundraiser suggested by the lacrosse program, is being discussed</p><p>OLD BUSINESS:</p><p>Winter Sports: Cheerleading – Sports Rep Patti Cohen / Sandy DelGreco The varsity team had a competition on Sunday at Bridgewater HS. They competed against 19 teams and placed 2nd. Next competition for varsity is Sunday 1/19 at Phillipsburg. Varsity will be leaving for Florida on Feb 6th to compete for Nationals.</p><p>JV will not be competing due to injuries. They will cheer for selected basketball game and wrestling matches.</p><p>Wrestling – Sports Rep Cara Smith The wrestling team currently has a 6-2 record. They beat Hopewell Valley on Dec 20th in the season home opener 42-18. Before a packed gym this past Friday, January 10th, they beat Hunterdon County rival Voorhees 43-12. It was also youth night and the future high school wrestlers from the Del Val Wildcats, Rams and grade school Terriers were introduced to the crowd. Bob Emmons was honored for 40 yrs of coaching the Wildcats also prior to the varsity match. During the Christmas break the varsity squad competed at the John Goles Tournament held at Warren Hills. Marek Tomanek and Ryan Erwin took first place, Tyler Smith took second place and Matt Kolonia, Cory Lightner, Kyle Schlittler and Nour Mays took third place. The pre-varsity squad traveled the next day to Manalapan for a JV team tournament and won all three of their matches, the final one by only 1 point.</p><p>This past Saturday the varsity squad participated in the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex tournament held at Hunterdon Central. The team finished third overall & there were 8 place winners. 1st Kody Eichlin @ 182 2nd Luke Zehnbauer @ 160 3rd Marek Tomanek @ 285 4th Matt Kolonia @ 113 Nour Mays @ 170 5th Alex Nugent @ 138 Brian Baehr @ 220 6th Kyle Refalvy @ 106</p><p>The pre-varsity squad traveled to Kinnelon for an individual tournament where quite a few of the wrestlers came home with medals.</p><p>Next Friday, January 24th will be Senior Night against Montgomery. There are 17 seniors on the team. The annual Gold Rush will be Wed, February 5th and the opponent is Hunterdon Central. T-shirts are still being sold for the event. They are $13 for short sleeve. See Coach Fitz for order forms.</p><p>Girls Basketball – Sports Rep Cathy Ferraro Varsity 4-3; finished 2nd in the Hillsborough Christmas Tournament JV 5-2; finished 3rd in the Hillsborough Christmas Tournament Freshmen 2-3; finished 2nd in the Hillsborough Christmas Tournament</p><p>1/16 Junior Terrier Night 2/6 Senior Night 2/20 Pink Out</p><p>Boys Basketball – Sports Rep Sandy DelGreco Varsity record: 2-4. Last two wins were good and the team is working hard and looking strong. Hoping to keep the winning streak going. We have a very busy schedule this week. Tonight away against Manville, Tuesday home against Scotch Plains and Thursday away Pingry.</p><p>Tuesday 1/21 is our White Out night & Thursday 1/23 is "JOEY" night. This game will be in memory of Joey Karabin.</p><p>JV is now 2-4 as well. Looking to stay on a roll this week Freshman are 2-2. Viridian: no change TD Affinity Membership Program: Lisa is in the process of getting information from the Flemington and Frenchtown branches</p><p>NEW BUSINESS:</p><p>Upcoming Clothing/Accessories Events – January 30th – 8th grade orientation 6:30 pm Proposed full day sales</p><p>School Store – The school store will be having a grand opening within the next couple of weeks. A motion was made by Janet to purchase a clothing rack to hang some of the clothing items the store will be selling, seconded by Linda Romaine.</p><p>Sponsorships – Lisa was contacted asking if the Booster Club would be interested in sponsoring two skaters. According to club by-laws individual sponsorship is prohibited. The club supports the Del Val teams and programs.</p><p>A motion was made by Peggy Mikulicz to adjourn the meeting at 7:49; Michele Baran seconded the motion. The next meeting will be held on February 10, 2014.</p>
