The aim is to encourage Archaeology students to see a connection between your academic studies and the world of work, either directly or via transferable skills. Working in teams, you will be challenged to solve a case study exercise and then articulate how you used your skills developed through your degree. (followed by networking) 13.45-16.00, K133</p><p>With recent government cuts for funding the humanities and social sciences and the eternal question of what to do after your degree, this session will explore the value of an archaeology degree in today's job market. The head of the department Professor Julian Richards, will introduce this session, where a variety of York Archaeology graduates will explain how they have developed their careers following their time at York. This session will then lead into a drinks reception and networking event amongst the undergraduate fieldwork exhibition, allowing you to chat informally with the graduates and Archaeology department staff. Please note booking is not required for this session.
