<p> ORANGE GROVE PUBLIC SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL 2012</p><p>Dear Parents and friends,</p><p>The 2012 Orange Grove Swimming Carnival is to be held on Wednesday, February 15th at Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre.</p><p>Children from Year 2 to Year 6 will be able to take part in races on the day.</p><p>HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE: Children in Year 2 MUST be 8 years of age now, or be turning 8 during 2012. They must be able to swim at least 50 metres unassisted in order to take part in age races. All children in Year 2 who meet this criteria and wish to participate in their age races, must have the note below, referring to their ability to swim the distance of 50 metres, completed by a parent and placed in the permission envelope.</p><p>Children will walk to and from the Aquatic Centre in class groups. We will be leaving school around 9am and will be returning by 3pm. It is important for all children to be in their swimmers before we leave the school.</p><p>If children can wear something in their House colours that would be great. House colours are: Fraser – Green Border – Blue Pearce - Yellow</p><p>SUN SMART POLICY promotes protection from the sun. We ask that all students attending the Swimming Carnival wear a hat and a t-shirt when not in the pool. Students are asked to bring their own sunscreen, and will be encouraged to make use of it at appropriate times - especially when coming out of the water. All students and staff will be encouraged to stay in shady areas while not in the pool. </p><p>If your child normally uses a “puffer” of some kind to assist with breathing it should be brought to the Carnival.</p><p>Please complete and return the attached envelope, along with entry fee of $5.00, to your child's class teacher as soon as possible.</p><p>Children may bring their own lunch or purchase it from the kiosk at appropriate times (when accompanied by a teacher or parent).</p><p>Helpers are very much appreciated. If you are able to assist with jobs on the day please see Mr Barbuto.
