Use active sentences. The purpose of this section is to both prepare and hook the reader. </p><p>Getting Ready If students need to do anything as preparation before beginning the lesson, outline the necessary steps here. Make it clear and succinct. Many readers will scan this section:  To develop a basic understanding ….  To evaluate sources of information …</p><p>Materials  List here, in order of importance.  List only supplies that are unique – 3.5 floppies are not unique in situations where students save on a disc rather than the school server.</p><p>Procedure</p><p>1. Strive for action statements. Examples include: 2. Review the procedures for using a paint program. 3. Solve a problem or mystery. 4. Formulate and defend your position on an issue.</p><p>Assessment Rubrics based on authentic assessment are highly encouraged. Describe to the learners each specific component of the job that will be assessed. The purpose of the document is to help students "Stay on Track" with the required components of the lesson or activity. </p><p>Dig Deeper! Provide a motivation for students to suggest their own questions to pursue for a deeper investigation. You might also include some rhetorical questions or additional links to encourage them to extend their thinking into other content beyond this lesson.
