<p> ENGLISH DEPARTMENT 2016 SUMMER READING BISHOP O’CONNELL HIGH SCHOOL . Students are required to read the assigned works and to annotate each text. In addition, students may wish to take notes that focus on character, theme, plot, setting, point of view, use of language, and symbolism. Students will take a test and/or write an essay on each work during the week of September 5. *English 3 AP Language, English 4 AP Literature, and English 1 Honors require written assignments.
