Depth of Field (DOF) is a term that refers to how much of a photo is in focus a. A “Deep” DOF refers to a photo that is all in focus. This type of photo often requires more time (a slower shutter speed) and a small aperture (a small opening in the lens) which is represented by a large f-stop value. b. A “Shallow” DOF refers to a photo that has very little depth in focus. This type of photo is often taken at a faster shutter speed and uses and large aperture (a large opening in the lens) which is represented by a small f-stop value. 2. Apply the Rule of Thirds, that you learned about last lesson, to all of your photos. 3. Frame two of your photos so that they demonstrate a “Deep” DOF. You will likely find that you have to stand back from your subject to achieve this. 4. Frame two of your photos so that they demonstrate a “Shallow” DOF. You will likely find that you have to get close to your subject to achieve this. 5. Take as many photos as you like but submit only two photos for each requirement.

Technical Steps and Components for Completion and Submission

1.
