<p>Economics Weekly News Article</p><p>One of the best parts of this course is that it is relevant to your daily lives. In addition, there is news about economics every day in the media, and this news can affect your daily lives. (Whether you are aware of the news or not) To help you better understand the connection between what is in the news about economics and your daily lives, you will be responsible for a news article about economics every week.</p><p>The focus on this article should be on a specific economic concept. You may submit an article from a print newspaper or magazine, or you may print the entire article from the Internet. The best way to find articles on the Internet is to use Google News and type in the focus word you want. For example, if you want an article about scarcity, type the word scarcity into the Google News search engine, and articles about this topic will come up. No matter the source you use, the article must be at least 2 paragraphs long AND must come from a legitimate news source. This includes newsmagazines (Time), newspapers (Journal News) and TV news (Channel 12). Blogs from legitimate news sources are acceptable but not business press releases. We will talk more about these different sources.</p><p>Once you have found an article you must either clip or print the ENTIRE article. On a separate piece of paper, you will 1. write the vocabulary word you chose and its definition 2. write a summary (1-2 paragraphs) of the article 3. write a sentence which explains how the article relates to the economic concept you chose. Please staple the written work to the article, with the written work on top.</p><p>These articles are due every Monday and the late homework policy applies. </p><p>We will practice this together to help you know what you should submit.
