Available through Regional Science and Math Center service . Work with iPads and iPhones . Can program with different levels of coding . Summer PD session being offered, not a pre-requisite for borrowing o Cubelets . Available through Regional Science and Math Center . Tiny robots . Makes block coding tangible . Summer PD session being offered, not a pre-requisite for borrowing  SLS app o Now available on Android and Apple products o Search “BT BOCES SLS” in app store  Rosen eBooks o “Spotlight on Ancient Civilizations” and “Spotlight on NY” are available through Media Library o MARC records are provided o Located in Mackin Via and on the Rosen Bookshelf  World Book eBooks subscription o SLS is purchasing for all schools for the 2015-16 year  Library Champion Bookmarks o Advocacy push from NYLA to build support from parents o Will be sent to our elementary librarians along with a guidance letter o Should be distributed to all 2nd graders</p><p>SLS Updates  NY School Boards Association presentation o Nassau BOCES System Coordinator will be presenting in October 2015 ______o Sent out a call for photos, videos, write-ups on what is happening in your library o Send this information to Nicole; she will compile and send  COUNCIL 2015-2016 o Fall meeting date--September 16 o Membership Expirations - letters will be sent to administrators over the summer . Trisha Williams volunteered to be chair from 2015-16 yeaar  Carol A. Kearney Leadership Institute Scholarships https://fs6.formsite.com/BTbocesSLS/form48/index.html Deadline is June 6 o 10 scholarships offered through NYLA o 3 scholarships offered through SLS o Scholarship provides conference registration/lodging </p><p>Librarian-Administrator Breakfast  Feedback o Great speaker - nice combination of administrator and librarian focus o Good venue and parking o Structure of day was good  Ideas for next year? o Scott Beattie suggested more time built into the morning for shared administrator/librarian program planning and conversations</p><p>Around the Table  Rita Foran o Call out for volunteers for Robercon, Sept. 26 & 27. o Need ideas for table ideas, reading incentive/giveaways o Contact Pat Westgate to help  Nancy Orr o Discussion on SLS-provided databases for the 2015-16 year . SLS will provide SIRS, National Geographic, World Book eBooks . No anticipated changes to NOVEL NY  Trisha Williams o Discussion on CCCD funding  Cheryl Naslund o Discussion on whether textbook funds could be spent for library resources o Scott Beattie – textbook funds can be moved to hardware, unsure about requirements around library texts  Carrie Randall o M-E is planning to add 4th librarian pending budget approval o Each building will have a librarian o No library clerk in one elementary.
