<p> *Virginia Tech* *College of Engineering Dean’s Office* *Software Assistance Triage (SWAT) Team* </p><p>*Computer Technician* </p><p>Type of Position: Student Wage </p><p>General Purpose of Position: To provide first line assistance to undergraduate students in the College of Engineering with software related issues, including software installations, driver issues, and networking issues. </p><p>*Job Duties:* Assist undergraduate students in the College of Engineering with software issues, installations, driver issues, file recovery, and networking issues. Diagnose hardware problems. Work on multiple problems simultaneously. Assist in loaning College of Engineering equipment to students and faculty. </p><p>*Required Qualifications:* * Experienced with software and OS installations * Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills * Ability to efficiently multi-task * Able to work both independently and with a team </p><p>*Preferred Qualifications:* * Experience working help desk or IT support * Experience providing quality customer service * Experience with Macintosh operating systems * A+, Net+, and/or Security+ certifications.
