<p> 2009 Hakka Tung Blossom Festival</p><p>White Snow Dances in the Air. Tung Blossom Animates Hakka Villages.</p><p>The Hakka Tung Blossom Festival has been held for eight straight days. During these short years, “The Hakka Tung Blossom Festival” has become one of the important festivals well known by citizens in Taiwan. Council for Hakka Affairs,</p><p>Executive Yuan develops contents of cultural and artistic activities in many places through the cooperative mode of “planning from central administration, franchise from enterprises, implement by local administration, and community construction.”</p><p>With the assistance to the development of Tung blossom products and with festival activities combining to Hakka culture, travelling, ecology, and industry, the excellent economic production value of Hakka cultural industries is created.</p><p>2009 Hakka Tung Blossom Festival emphasizes cultural rooting in local areas, refinement, profession, and art. On the basis of the past, it may unite Hakka culture, industries, and tourist industries more completely. At the same time, the activity theme will be “energy saving and carbon reduction for nature.” The festival cooperates with county administrations of Yilan, Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu,</p><p>Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, and Nantou. There are 10 counties, 25 towns, and 45 units subsidized in total. Through the cooperative mode of “planning from central administration, franchise from enterprises, implement by local administration, and community construction,” industries and the image of Tung blossom are associated together to develop creative ideas, integrate resources, and lead every town and club to hold diversified cultural and industrial activities. With the service of shuttle bus, the convenience and the willing of participation in the festival for citizens are thus enhanced. The unlimited commercial opportunities thus are brought by it.</p><p>1 It is the first time for the Festival to hold the Competition of Slogan for the</p><p>Hakka Tung Blossom Festival and Top 100 pictures of Tung blossom. </p><p>It is a warm-up activity of 2009 the Hakka Tung Blossom Festival and received many</p><p> replies. From January 9th to February 2nd in 2009, during the short 24 days, there are</p><p>1,507 persons registering to participate in this competition. Among these registrations,</p><p> we have 1,216 persons for the slogan competition and 291 persons with 701 photos of</p><p>Tung blossom for Top 100 pictures. Through rigid preliminary and final review,</p><p> excellent works are selected. The award ceremony will be held in Taipei Eslite Dun-</p><p>Nan B2 Art Space on February 21st, and an exhibition of Tung blossom photos will be</p><p> held in the same place for 9 days.</p><p>8 creative and cultural activities of the Tung Blossom Festival will be held.</p><p>1. 14:00 on Saturday, April 18 th at West Lake Restopia</p><p>“ Spreading Youth, Animating Hakka Villages”: A Creative Performance of Tung</p><p>Blossom Dance</p><p>Popular groups in “Dance Avenue” and other ones will be invited to perform</p><p> diversified styles of dances, such as street dance, tap dance, and jazz with the</p><p> combination to cultural elements in the theme of “Hakka/Tung Blossom” to present</p><p> excellent creative Hakka style.</p><p>2. 14:00 on Saturday, May 2 nd at Taoyuan Tashee Blooming Oasis</p><p>Fair: “Family Fun of Tung Blossom Festival”</p><p>Miss Butterfly of Easter Television YoYo Channel, elementary and junior high school</p><p> groups which are top three in singing performance in the interschool competition of</p><p>Hakka Life will be invited to sing and dance with children. There will be clowns,</p><p>2 street entertainers, balloons, lollipops, cotton candies, and other interesting things</p><p> there. It is a family festival for family touring.</p><p>3. 14:00 on Saturday, May 9th at Hsinchu Jiuqiong Lake Jingu Farm</p><p>Jazz Music Feast: “Walking in the Mountain, Enjoying Jazz Music” </p><p>Visitors can walk in the mountain leisurely and enjoy coffee with Tung blossom and</p><p>Hakka Jazz music in the evening. Hakka Jazz music CD albums will be given there.
