<p>Date Posted: January 26, 2015 Closing Date: February 13, 2015 Position Title: Program Assistant Department: Community Impact Supervisor: Senior Director, Health Council Senior Director, Financial Stability Council Senior Director, Community Resources</p><p>Start Date: Immediately Position Status: Regular, Full-Time Job Classification: Non-Exempt In compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is classified as a non-exempt position and the employee is eligible for overtime.</p><p>POSITION OVERVIEW The Program Assistant will support the Health Council, Financial Stability Council, and Community Resources area in all elements of UWM’s Community Impact work to include grant management and development, program research, budgeting/accounting support, management of databases, volunteer support and management of special initiatives.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES  Grant Management o Prepare reports and financial expenditure data for grants where UWM is grantee. o Review, track, and follow-up on reports summited to UWM. o Provide assistance to grantees on completing grant applications and reports. o Monitor financial expenditures and program compliance across several grant programs. o Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions on various grant programs. o Manage grants and agency information in database.</p><p> Special Project Management o Coordinate multi-party projects including partner communications, report management, meeting preparation, and limited budgeting/accounting functions. o Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts for community initiatives. o Manage special events to include registration, communications, event planning, and administrative support.</p><p> Grant Development o Research relevant grant opportunities. o Compile community needs data to support grant applications. Page 1 of 2 o Assist with grant writing.</p><p> Administrative Support o Program administrative support to include meeting coordination, written correspondence, meeting minutes, and volunteer management.</p><p> Other Essential Duties o Manage special projects and initiatives as assigned. Other related duties as assigned.</p><p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication (oral and written) skills.  Proficiency in Excel and MS Office family of products.  Ability to manage various aspects of grants, special projects and initiatives.  Candidates must consistently demonstrate the ability to work independently as a member of an impact team.  Ability to prioritize projects and manage time effectively.  Ability to develop positive interpersonal and working relationships with various publics, including, volunteers networks, UWM staff, human services organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, funders and supporters.  Develops and maintains rosters, calendars, filing systems and ensures accuracy, confidentiality and consistency of filing systems.  Database analysis skills including demonstrated ability to write reports, build queries.</p><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor’s degree or relevant education and experience in related field.  Grant development/management.  Non-profit, government, foundation, board, volunteer management, and/or United Way experience.</p><p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p><p>Qualified candidates should submit resume and cover letter to: Ms. Cheryl Johnson Benjamin, MBA Senior Director, Health Council United Way of the Midlands 1800 Main Street Columbia, SC 29201 Email: [email protected]</p><p>Page 2 of 2</p>
