<p> University Women’s Club of Montreal Inc. Report as April 24, 2015</p><p>Membership</p><p>. 107 members in 2014vs 92 members in 2015 We lost 3 members due to illness, 3 moved out of the city, 1 deceased. 3 due politics Several new members did not renew. We did attract 8 new members since September, one of which is the Mother of our next President.</p><p>Program and Activities</p><p>. We had 5 speakers this year, which include principal of Mcgill and Principal of Concrodia, they were our best attended evenings. . We had a evening featuring the clubs many artist member, which also proved to be very popular . Held a Volunteer Appreciation Wine & Cheese during National Volunteer week. . We have 8 active interest groups</p><p>Fundraising </p><p>. Objective $10,000 raised close to $9000, $5500 was raised through an Auction night, balance was received in donations through our annual giving campaign.</p><p>Scholarship/Fellowships</p><p>. As our fundraiser took place last week disbursement have not taken place, but we will maintain our tradition of splitting funds between scholarships and 3 to 4 women’s shelters</p><p>Advocacy</p><p>. Actions related to CFUW Resolutions –none . Initiated the Reinstate the Therese Casgrain award . Took part in Centraide walk of 1000 Umbrellas- A fight against poverty . Attended Sisters in Spirit Vigil in Montreal . Attended the 25th Memorial Service for Polytechnique Victims . Wrote letters to Quebec Minister of health requesting a full study on Bill 10 . Wrote letters to MPs calling for a National action Plan on Violence against women and Girls</p><p>QUEBEC PROVINCIAL COUNCIL OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S CLUBS / CONSEIL PROVINCIAL DU QU1ÉBEC DES ASSOCIATIONS DES FEMMES DIPL1ÔMÉES DES UNIVERSITÉS Communications and Publicity . We have updated our website to ensure maximization of search engines . We have opened a Facebook page, a twitter account and google+ page. All are being updated several times a week.</p><p>Links with other groups and CFUW</p><p>. Nominated the winner of this years Montreal council Women of the Year: Nakuset director of the Montreal Native Women’s Shelter . Will be participating in this years Chez Doris Tea which is allowing us to Network during event. . Invited 2 senior members of Desta at our December dinner which raised $400 in donations on their behalf . 6 Members have volunteered for CFUW AGM in Quebec city/</p><p>Sustainability and Governace</p><p>. A budget was approved. . We have updated Club by-laws to include a Student Membership Category . Our 2015-2016 board is missing one person . A 5 year Strat Plan was put in place this year</p><p>Other comments</p><p>A 16 year old highschool student is regularly attending our dinners.
