<p>The Dichotomy between Absolutism and Popular Sovereignty Introduction /35 Chapter 17 is full of changes for European power systems. After the middle ages, Europe was ripe for political change. Monarchs began flexing their muscles while at the same time, the people were doing the same in Britain (Renaissance influence here).
