<p> METHODOLOGIE: ANALYSER UN DOCUMENT ICONOGRAPHIQUE</p><p>1) Identify / presentation:</p><p>- The document is a photo / photograph , drawing, comic strip, painting, book cover, newspaper front poster, watercolor, collage, photography, commercial / an ad / an advert (=publicité), a cartoon (=dessin humoristique), a caricature, a snapshot (= ______), a chart (=graphique), a map (carte) in color , in black and white</p><p>2) Its origin : - We can suppose / we can imagine… - It dates from. . . - It comes from. . . / It is an extract (=extrait) from . . . - It is an commercial for . . . - We can suppose it appeared in … recently/ a long time ago / years ago - It was drawn (= tiré de) by . . . / painted by . . . / taken by . . . / made by. . a painter / a photographer / a cartoonist / an advertiser. . .</p><p>3) Describe: Speak about the different elements you see: </p><p>Dites ici uniquement ce que vous voyez, mais pas encore ce que vous en déduisez. Répondez aux questions en WH-: "Who?" "Where?" "When?" It represents / symbolizes</p><p>- Message of the text: key words: it conveys (= exprimer, traduire, évoquer) an impression of …</p><p>- It raises the question of (= soulever la question)… - The advertiser’s intention and the target audience. It is aiming at … - the target is, the aim of the document is to denounce, criticize / decry / disparage.</p><p>- The subject is ... / The topic is ... / This issue is topical.(= d’actualité) - We can conclude that ... / We can imagine that ... / We can infer that ... / We can deduce that ... / It illustrates.... / - It refers to ... / It is about ... / It deals with… /...</p><p>5) Give your opinion: - What you think: to my mind, for my part I think, as far as I’m concerned… - I find this document funny / hilarious / shocking / foolish / superficial / accurate / old-fashioned / intriguing / thought – provoking / exaggerated / far- fetched . - Effective or not? Successful or is it a flop?</p><p>Remarque: On utilise le présent BE – ING pour les descriptions dans les documents iconographiques.</p>
