Oral Cancer Is on the Rise Nationally Due to the Human Papillomavirus, Or HPV, with Several

Dear Friend,

Oral Cancer is on the rise nationally due to the Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, with several notable, high profile Business Leaders, Actors, and Professional Athletes having recently been diagnosed with the disease.

Approximately 43,000 Americans will be diagnosed with Oral Cancer in the US this year, with only slightly more than half surviving 5 years. Survivors of this disease face life long Quality of Life issues and are often left disfigured, and disabled.

The death and morbidity rates associated with Oral Cancer are particularly high due to the disease routinely being diagnosed in the later stages. Through Early Detection initiatives and raising Public Awareness we have the opportunity to Change the Face of Oral Cancer.

The Boise Oral Cancer Walk/5k Run will be held on Saturday October 11th, 2014 starting at the Riverside Hotel and running along the Greenway. Proceeds will benefit Oral Cancer Education, Research, Patient Advocacy & Support Services, and Awareness efforts. The majority of the funds will be used within the community they were raised in through eCharity Services, Inc. a national public service, non-profit entity designed to help State Dental and Dental Hygienist Association raise funds for Oral Cancer.

We invite you to become a corporate sponsor of the event by providing much needed financial support. A successful walk not only depends on pledges from walkers, but from businesses and organizations representing our community.

A Sponsorship Form is enclosed for your convenience. There are opportunities for prominent logo placement on all promotional materials including t-shirts, posters, banners and on our Oral Cancer Walk.org fundraising website. Please join us as we enthusiastically aim to raise awareness and help promote early detection for families across Idaho.

For more information please contact IDHA Executive Director, Susanne Jamison, RDH, BS, at [email protected], or Jessica Mendenhall at [email protected].

Thank you for your consideration in helping us save lives, smiles, kisses, and families.

Sincerely,

Eric Statler Stage IV Oral Cancer Survivor President, eCharity Services, Inc.
